Food Program
Since the beginning of 2006, St. Anthony’s has been funding a lunch program at St. Francis Xavier’s school. The school, which now has over 240 students in kindergarten through sixth grade, did not provide lunches for the children prior to this program. For many of the children, this is the only substantial meal they receive each day. The children also receive a multivitamin every day with their lunch. In addition to feeding the children, the program is providing local jobs by employing three people from Gandou who prepare and serve the food.
